How To Edit Runescape Fileshare
Hi all, A disturbing post on FB brings me here: ransomware. What are the odds of a PURE (I dont even think of anything else) Linux system getting infected? Provided, I stick to the repso, and avoid AUR, too bad if I miss Runescape that way (the NXT is in AUR). Batman The Dark Knight Rises Apk Sd Data Free Download.
Besides regular backups.what else can I do? I use GRsync (Rsync, in fact) to sync to an external drive, but, that is not a progressive backup. It overwrites the latest stuff. I opened this thread to allow exchange of thoughts on a serious note. If a mod sees it fit to move it to elsewhere, I'll be gratefull, since this is perhaps not the place (general discussion) to put this. Thanks Melissa (no tags found, sorry).
Edit subscriptions. How big of a file is the entire Runescape game? Maybe he knows how big of a file Runescape game actually is.
While your general statement is probably correct it is possible that this can happen. One I remember reading about a little while ago is described here: My understanding is that it is possible to be one of the very unlucky 'tens' of people affected before the linux community (i.e. Various distro maintainers) respond/adapt=patch. In this case I believe it was also possible to hack the ransomware but that would depend on the particular case. Probably more chance of being hit by the proverbial bus.
Best safeguard - regular backup to unmounted external drive(s). Keep a number archived and only delete when space is required for new one.
But since I know absolutely nothing I would be very interested in hearing others. Ransomware - in whatever form it takes is pure evil. In DK we have had several public officies and local entrepreneurs hit by ransomware and they are not using fileshare or porn sites. In fact they have a very hard policy on what computers may be used for. The ransomware hit through targeted emails with the ransomware hidden in attached files. A short lapse in your attention and you have unknowningly infected your self. It's like walking barefooted on a beach - get snipped by a peace of glass, loose your balance an put your foot in doggies ****.
You are infected - ups. I have done some autopsy on some of those attached documents. Both in a windows environment and linux enviroment. The files I have scrutinized has no effect in the linux environment since the paths seemed hardcoded in the files. That said - the only defence against ransomware are frequent copying of your precious data offsite. I found duplicity to be an extremly usefull piece of software since it can both encrypt and compress the data and pushing the files offsite to google drive, one drive, amazon --- you name it - it got or it is possible to make it do it. ButterflyMelissa: - thanks, I had no clue!
I have a ton yet to learn most ransomware comes from file-sharing sites and is mainly porn and windows apps Sadly not true anymore - the currently preferred target vector is mallvertising - malicious banner adds that get handed out through the big players, and not so big players. Porn and filesharing sites are more prone still - yes - because the add networks used there give even less s@*#t about the 'customers' and check the adds submitted to them even less. The last ransomware cases I had to deal with were on work machines that actually block access to most sites except white-listed - the malware either cam through an e-mail (targeted at HR dept - two incidents) or through an infected banner add on a reputable mainstream news site run by the government controlled public TV station. The best defence at the moment is a) no flash b) no java c) adblocker d) if feasible noscript plugin to disable javascript from running loaded from sites you do not know.
